Earlier on, the Hotel Norwich sold

By April 2000 the change of ownership
had seen the removal of the handpumps.

The pub was again closed sometime in 1998, and by
20th January 1999 J. D. Wetherspoon's had completed
a re-fit costing around half a million pounds.
In November 2001 Adrian Hennessy pointed out
that this was a relatively unusual location for
a Wetherspoon's pub.
He found four real ales on offer,
at Wetherspoon's customary cheap prices.
The pub is Cask Marque accredited.
Food was served practically all day.
Listed in Woodforde's Pub Guide 2011.
Notes ..
The Sportsman's Arms is the bar within
the Sports Village complex.
In October 2001 Adrian Hennessy was
unable to find any real ales.
At this stage the public bar was presumably in
the Eclipse Hotel.
From September 2006 the hotel was absorbed
into Holiday Inns.
It now has the bizarre name Express by Holiday Inn
- the word 'Inn' being singular.

In July 2005 Adrian Henessey found 3 real ales on offer.
