Licence transferred from King's Arms,

The pub closed in August 1997, and a photo exists
of a boarded-up building in September 1997.
It may have re-opened after a short time, and new landlords
were in place in January 1999; but the pub was again
boarded-up by December 1999.
Planning permission to demolish etc.
granted 7th May 2002.

was granted for some card games.
Licensee from October 1989 was
Alfred William Francis Wilson.
A planning application for a food store
(plus parking) was refused in June 1995.
Wilson was replaced in December 1996.

New owners in 1999 re-opened and re-named the pub
on 14th June 1999. They are said to have spent £225,000 on the re-fit, mainly in the kitchens. Greene King (Hungry Horse chain) having taken over, (I make it approx. 37,000 per year expenditure |
