The pub closed in August 1997, and a photo exists
of a boarded-up building in September 1997.
It may have re-opened after a short time, and new landlords
were in place in January 1999; but the pub was again
boarded-up by December 1999.

Planning permission to demolish etc.
granted 7th May 2002.

A special extension under the Gaming Act 1968
was granted for some card games.

Park House : Catton Grove Road
Notes ..

Harry Harrison was the first licensee of the new pub,
from 25th July 1933. He was followed by his son Bert
in March 1951, who served only until November 1952.

The pub was closed and boarded-up
for a long period from June 1996.

New owners in 1999 re-opened and re-named the pub
on 14th June 1999. They are said to have spent
£225,000 on the re-fit, mainly in the kitchens.

Greene King (Hungry Horse chain) having taken over,
they closed the pub on 31st March 2005.

(I make it approx. 37,000 per year expenditure
on the re-fit !)
