Meaning of symbols

Earlier known as the Cavalry Barracks, this complex
occupied all the higher ground to the North of
Barrack Street, but below Mousehold proper.

The area involved falls short of the steeper incline
(and modern roundabout) leading to Kett's Hill.

at the foot of Kett's Hill.

Only the Marquis of Granby and the Horse Barracks
survived the pre-War slum-clearance program,
by virtue of being completely re-built.
(But both since demolished).
