This freehouse - as White Rose - was owned, by 1872,
by George Womack. From 1873 it was held by his
executors, and the very next year by Mrs. Womack.

Later, Mrs. Ann Womack, of Newmarket Road,
was joined in ownership with William Forster,
a gentleman from Aylsham.

Later still, ownership was in the hands of
William Forster of Blickling and John Rout of Norwich

In August 1890 it was (partly) taken over by
Coleman's Brewery Co. - See Research notes.
Sometime after 1894 it was owned by
Bullard's Brewery.

 

In 1927 the Norwich Vikings Motor-Cycle Club.
was formed at this pub.

In 1937 it was noted that this was a pub with
no 'proper' pub-sign.
