Young, in his book (page 73) says the notable signs
('arms') on the outside belong to the Blomefield family;
although it is not certain that they (including the
well-known Norfolk historian) ever lived there.

Possibly Badding's Lane was previously White Lion Lane.

The pub name was changed around the time of
the opening of the nearby Law Courts.

The pub has been privately owned since 1993.
