Meaning of symbols

River Wensum) would previously have been known as
Pitt Street (or Tooley Street); as the Duke Street bridge
is a relatively recent feature (circa 1822).
Moreover, the Duke's Palace was on the other side
of the river !  That (Southern) side is in Area 4.
  Another section of Pitt Street lies North of the
Inner Ring Road, in Area  1.

However, the last pub in the Inner area
is the Flower in Hand - a Pitt Street pub.
