City Centre : Over the Water (inner)

Division 1 : Area 2

St. Martin's : group 14

. . . 10 pubs in this group . . . 1 still serving.

Meaning of symbols

The Northern group boundary is prescribed[1]
by the Inner Ring Road.
To the South lies the St. Mary's Plain group (Group 13).

The long (very long) side of the Sexton's shoe-factory
(c. 1923) straddles both these "patches".

A photograph, pre-Sexton's, on page 91 of
CLUER & SHAW : Former Norwich
shows the stretch including the Dolphin
and the Perseverance.
Also see page 25 of Norwich Past & Present
(Geoffrey Goreham) Volume 1.

The interminable Oak Street, as ever, bisects the area;
which is taken to include New Mills Yard, leading to
the River Wensum.

[1] Historically, the St. Martin's at Oak Parish
extends up to, and even beyond, the City Walls !.

St. Martin's Lane has a separate group (next) -
Group 15.
