FORBY (1759-1825) : Vocabulary of East Anglia (2 vols. 1830)
The Reverend Robert Forby, Rector of Fincham; born Stoke Ferry.
His vocabulary is the standard work on the subject.
It contains approx. 2000 words and phrases of "Icenian Glossary",
with contributions from correspondents of Forby's in
all three counties (Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex).
Much of the long and learned introduction deals with etymology
and the derivations of words.
